Shaila Anjum

Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Behaviour Technician

Personal growth and healing are essential and transformative journeys to invest in - and they don’t have to be done alone.

Crucial to these journeys is finding a compassionate therapist that acts as an impartial ear; Not telling you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear in order to heal and move forward through life with a healthy mind and outlook.

Shaila Anjum, CRPO, RBT, is a dedicated and understanding Behavioural Analyst and Psychotherapist with over five years of clinical experience. Shaila possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and a Post Graduate Certification in Behaviour Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology. Among her many specialties, Shaila is particularly passionate about providing support through Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution-focused Therapy. She is also certified in both Trauma-Informed Therapy and Grief Counselling.

Using these multiple approaches, Shaila has helped adults and children with ADHD and learning disorders. She has years of experience with early intervention in developmental years, children, adolescents, and adults – all with or without exceptionalities such as ASD, ADHD, ODD, or other developmental and neurological disorders. She also serves clients who need assistance with anxiety and depression, as well as those who identify as members of the LGBTQS2+ community.

As a member of the South Asian community and based in Brampton, Ontario, Shaila brings a culturally sensitive and competent lens to her therapy sessions. Offering her services in English, Hindi, and Urdu, Shaila is able to provide her clients with the highest level of care in the language they are most comfortable using.

Shaila places a high value on a collaborative effort between herself and her clients, including them in the treatment journey so they can make decisions on how their therapy is developing and make tweaks along the way.

Together, Shaila can help you to overcome your challenges and set you on a path for a better, healthier life.
