Taran Ranu

Registered Psychotherapist, and Counsellor



Taran is a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) with the college of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She focuses on personalizing her therapy session to her clients' needs while building a warm, inclusive, and validating safe space that is culturally responsive and socially just. With clinical training and professional experience she holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.


Taran specializes to supporting individuals aged 14+ who are experiencing issues relating to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationships, sex, marriage, self-esteem, identity and grief. Taran's diverse experience in the mental health field and dedication to empowering individuals allow her to help her clients look past their life stressors or complications and regain confidence in a meaningful step forward.


Taran believes that a strong therapeutic relationship can greatly enhance your quality of life, transform your relationship and boost your resilience in challending life situations. She pulls from her toobox of various modalities that include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Solution focused Therapy as well as the Gottman Method for Couples.


In practice, Taran is a gentle, honest, intuitive and compassionate therapist. She is passionate about seeing her clients step into their power and resiliance. Her ability to provide couples counselling, individial therapy, and relationship support within an inclusive space is supported through her 10+ years of experience.


Taran brings an inclusive practice to Canadian Therapy. She focuses on diverse populations, clients from socioeconomic backgrounds, and is a strong advocate for women and men from various unique life experience bringing her clients a renewed sense empowerment and confidence.
