About Me When you feel lost, it’s rarely sudden — it’s a slow drift. One day you realize you’ve been showing up for everyone but yourself, performing strength while your spirit quietly calls for stillness. My work begins there — in the quiet space between who you’ve become for the world and who you are underneath it all. I’m Preeti Taneja, a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of Canadian Therapy. My approach is grounded in authenticity — in helping you come back into alignment with your truth, your energy, and your inner rhythm. I believe healing begins not by adding more, but by unlearning what disconnects you from yourself. It’s not about striving to become; it’s about gently unbecoming everything that was never truly yours. In therapy, we move gently — not by rushing to fix, but by learning to listen. To the body that’s been carrying too much. To the mind that’s been overthinking its way through survival. To the soul that’s been whispering for rest. Together, we begin to untangle the web — of anxiety, of sadness, of relationships that drain more than they give — until clarity begins to return. My Approach Many of my clients come in carrying fear — fear of being judged, of being too much, too broken, too late to change. I hold that fear, not as something to erase, but as something to meet with compassion. Healing isn’t about overpowering fear; it’s about teaching it that it’s safe to rest. In our sessions, we slow down. We let silence speak. We focus on presence — because presence regulates, and authenticity heals. You’ll find that I don’t lead from perfection or performance. I lead from alignment — from the kind of grounded awareness that says, “You don’t have to apologize for taking up space here.” I integrate evidence-based practice with mindful awareness, cultural sensitivity, and a soul led approach. Together, we’ll explore what drains your energy, what restores it, and how to pour it only where it amplifies your peace. Therapy with me is a return — not just to balance, but to belonging within yourself. Experience & Background As a South Asian woman, wife, and mother of two, I understand the invisible weight many carry — the need to be everything for everyone, the pressure to appear strong, composed, “fine.” Over the past 17+ years, I’ve worked in both Vancouver and Toronto, supporting individuals and couples through emotional pain, relationship challenges, and mental health struggles including depression, anxiety, and trauma. I’ve had the privilege of working with some of Canada’s leading health organizations:

  • University Health Network (Toronto General Hospital) – 5 years

  • Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre – 4 years

  • Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre – 2 years

  • Toronto North Support Services – 2 years

  • Surrey/Delta Mental Health and Addictions Centre – 4 years

These years have taught me that healing doesn’t come from theory alone — it comes from presence. From holding another person’s fear without flinching, and letting trust build slowly, moment by moment. Specialties • Relationship Conflict & Marital Breakdown • Depression, Anxiety & Burnout • Trauma, Grief & Emotional Regulation • Addiction & Substance Use • Self-Esteem & Mindfulness-Based Healing • Couples Therapy & Communication Rebuilding Philosophy

Being soul-led means showing up with your whole self — not the version you think the world needs, but the version that’s honest, grounded, and compassionate. In my sessions, that’s the space I hold for you: a space where you can stop performing, start feeling, and learn to trust your own rhythm again. Fear is welcome here. Silence is welcome here. Your uncertainty, your anger, your grief — all of it belongs. Because true healing doesn’t begin with answers; it begins with presence. The work we do together is not about becoming someone new — it’s about coming home to who you already are. Book a Complimentary Consultation Healing begins with one small act of courage — reaching out. If you’re ready to begin this process of alignment and self-return, I invite you to book a 20-minute complimentary consultation. Let’s begin the work of remembering your wholeness — gently, authentically, and soul-first.
